LYKT1 High-Strength Heat-Shrink Tool Attachment Kit — 60 Attachments with Organizer
Create secure tether attachment points on compatible hand tools that do not have built-in tether connections. The LYKT1 kit contains 60 high-strength heat-shrink loop attachments in three sizes, organized in a portable compartment case for convenient storage and transport.
Each attachment combines heat-shrink material, webbing and a D-ring connection into one assembly. No separate D-ring webbing or tool-attachment tape is required.

How to Install a Heat-Shrink Loop Attachment
- Read the Instructions
Read and understand the complete manufacturer instructions before selecting, installing or using an attachment.
- Inspect the Tool and Attachment
Confirm that the tool is clean, undamaged and compatible with this attachment method. Inspect the shrink loop, webbing, D-ring and label. Do not use an attachment with cracks, rips, tears or other damage.
- Measure the Tool
Measure the diameter at the intended attachment location. Select the correct shrink-loop size using the stated diameter range, tool-weight limit and maximum tether length.
- Confirm Suitable Tool Geometry
Select a location where the tool’s ends are larger than the area where the shrink loop will rest. The attachment location must prevent the loop from sliding completely off the tool.
Do not use these attachments on straight-shaft tools without suitable abrupt geometry. The manufacturer’s instructions specifically identify cylindrical, hexagonal and square straight-shaft tools, pliers and vise grips as unsuitable applications.
- Position the Attachment
Slide the selected shrink loop over the tool and place it where it will not interfere with normal operation or create another safety hazard.
- Apply Heat
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Using a standard heat gun, evenly heat the underside of the shrink loop while keeping the heat source approximately 1 inch away. Then heat the top section.
Avoid heating the care label. Do not char or burn the shrink material or webbing.
- Allow It to Cool
Allow the attachment to cool for approximately 30 minutes before testing or use.
- Check the Installation
Pull firmly on the D-ring to confirm a tight installation. Some movement along the straight portion of a compatible tool may be normal, but the tool’s geometry must prevent the attachment from coming off.
- Inspect Before Every Use
Inspect the attachment, D-ring, webbing, tool, tether and anchor point before each use. Immediately remove any damaged or questionable component from service.

● Never use this product on or near rotating equipment.
● Use only on tools with suitable abrupt geometry that prevents the attachment from sliding off.
● Do not exceed the stated tool-weight limit for the selected attachment.
● Do not use a tether longer than 48 inches with these attachments.
● The complete system is limited by its lowest-rated component, including the attachment, tether, connectors and anchor point.
● Do not suspend or intentionally hang a tool from its tether.
● Do not char or burn the shrink material. Burning can produce irritating fumes.
● Use appropriate PPE when operating the heat gun and installing the attachment.
● Keep the attachment away from sharp edges and conditions that could cut, melt or damage it.
● These attachments are for tool tethering only. They are not fall protection, personnel-support equipment or lifting devices.
● Follow the manufacturer instructions and the employer’s approved dropped-object prevention, tool-control and FME procedures.
